Be alert to plots and 'peaceful evolution' activities targeting the young generation

In the current conditions of socio-economic development and increasingly deep international integration, young people have many conditions and opportunities to promote the heroic revolutionary tradition of previous generations, striving to assert themselves in all areas of social life. However, in the new conditions, the young generation also faces many challenges, especially the negative impacts of the market economy, when their life experience is not enough to be able to filter and be immune to negative, multi-dimensional, and complex information.

In addition, hostile forces take advantage of the psychological characteristics of young people, who are easily receptive to new things, love freedom, and assert themselves, but whose awareness of political and social issues is not yet mature enough, so they seek every way to propagate, incite, and bribe in order to corrupt the future generation of the country, this powerful reserve force of the Party and the revolution.

Recently, hostile forces have taken advantage of information technology and social networks to influence the psychology of the young generation. They have posted many documents with reactionary content, ambiguous, speculative, and incorrect information, with bad intentions, such as: Fabricating information to degrade and defame high-ranking officials of the Party and State; delving into corruption and negative incidents in society to direct public opinion and incite the young generation to express dissatisfaction with the regime.

In particular, before major political and social events, anniversaries, the occasion of Party Congresses at all levels, elections of National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels, before complicated and sensitive incidents arise, environmental pollution, and epidemics occur to take advantage of incitement and spread rumors.distort, deny the achievementsof the country and people in the past and present as well as Vietnam's prestigious position in the international arena, creating online forums for many young people to access and orienting comments in a negative direction, aiming to spread skepticism, discouragement, leading to political disorientation.

Also through the internet and social networks, they spread obscene and violent publications and online games, promoting a pragmatic lifestyle that corrupts people, arouses instinctive desires, pursues pleasure, and refuses to study, work, and contribute.

The disease of “indifference to the Party, lack of the Youth Union, boredom with politics” is a real situation of a small number of young people. When instinctive desires become the sole purpose, it inevitably leads to neglect of the learning and training process; rashness, lack of reality, easy to waver, easy to be lured, influenced by a competitive lifestyle, leading to a part of the youth valuing a materialistic lifestyle, underestimating spiritual values. They are indifferent, apathetic, do not fight against what is wrong and do not support or protect what is right; many young people have lost their will to strive to rise up, are afraid of difficulties, hardships, and have deviations in thinking and action... That is the goal of the plot and activities of “peaceful evolution” of hostile forces to gradually “transform” the youth, in order to create a young generation living according to pragmatism, profiteering, selfishness, ready to judge, deny the past and the leadership role of our Party and State.

From that impact, some people were provoked to write articles on social networks such as Facebook, YouTube, blogs and forums promoting bourgeois democratic views, speaking ill of the regime, slandering and prying into private lives to lower the prestige and honor of Party and State leaders, posting comments, following reactionary ideas, speaking ill of the regime, promoting the so-called "civil society", "freedom of speech”,… without knowing that they had fallen into the trap of hostile forces. As a result, because of a moment of rashness and lack of knowledge, some young people “gave the enemy a spear” and were prosecuted and tried by the authorities, such as: Hoang Duc Binh, Nguyen Van Oai, Dau Van Duong, Phan Cong Hai, Nguyen Nang Tinh... and in 2020 alone, the authorities of Nghe An province verified, fought, and handled more than 120 individuals (mainly young people) who posted and spread fake, malicious information on cyberspace, of which 87 individuals posted and shared false information about the Covid-19 epidemic situation in the area.

In the cause of innovation, our Party determinesrole of youthas well as youth work is more important than ever. Resolution of the 7th Conference of the 10th Party Central Committee on "Strengthening the Party's leadership over youth work in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization" affirmed: "Youth is the backbone of the country, the future owner of the country, the vanguard force in building and defending the Fatherland, one of the decisive factors for the success or failure of the cause of industrialization, modernization of the country, international integration and building socialism.”.

Therefore, in order to promote the role and position of young people in the current revolutionary cause, in the coming time, Party committees at all levels need to focus on political and ideological education, raising awareness for young people, pupils and students, helping young people to "resist" well against the "peaceful evolution" plot of hostile forces. Periodically each year, at least each Youth Union organization and school opens a class to talk and train on propaganda topics about the plots and tricks of "peaceful evolution" activities of hostile forces.

In addition, it is necessary to equip them with basic knowledge and political theory so that young people can respond to wrong and hostile views; at the same time, direct the youth union and schools in the province to regularly organize propaganda activities, educate on patriotic traditions, visit red addresses; orient the awareness, feelings and behavior of young people on issues of public concern; do a good job of managing union members, youth, students and pupils in the face of complicated incidents that arise, prevent and fight against the activities of hostile forces and bad elements that collude, entice and incite union members, youth, students and pupils to demonstrate illegally.

Along with creating an increasingly better environment for young people to study, work and contribute to social development, one content that needs to be paid attention to and focused on is improving the effectiveness of the Youth Union. Widely attract young people, teenagers and children to participate in organizations with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union as the core and in charge, because only the Youth Union is the socialist school of the youth, the revolutionary shock force, the Party's trusted reserve force, representing and protecting the legitimate rights of young people, can create an age-appropriate environment for union members and young people to compete in work, creativity and contribution.

To orient the youth force towards true and humane values, first of all, the Youth Union and Youth Union organizations from the provincial to the grassroots level must continue to innovate their methods of operation, as well as methods of gathering union members and members to increasingly suit the development trend of life, actively organize volunteer activities for the community, must know how to protect and promote humane values ​​to spread more and more deeply in society; regularly attach importance to political education,revolutionary vigilanceso that young people know how to identify, guard against and stay away from material temptations, trivial culture, and harmful foreign culture, know how to protect themselves, protect the Youth Union organization, and not fall into the "trap" of hostile forces. In particular, the entire political system from the province to the grassroots level needs to continue to resolutely fight and strictly handle acts, distorted arguments, plots, and tricks to entice and incite young people to oppose the Party, the State, and the socialist regime, contributing to firmly protecting the achievements of the revolution, protecting political security, and social order and safety in the area.

The young generation is the future of the country, and at the same time, the target that hostile forces exploit to sabotage our Party and State. Therefore, each member and youth needs to build a strong ideology in the face of bad and toxic information, always be steadfast and believe in the leadership of the Party; promptly detect and actively fight, prevent and defeat all plots and tricks of hostile forces in the "Peaceful Evolution" strategy, strive to study and practice to become good citizens, actively contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
