Beware of distorted arguments about April 30

The same old arguments

Every year, on the occasion of the country's celebration of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, reactionary organizations and political extremists spread outdated and outdated arguments. With the help of reactionary organizations and the strategy of peaceful evolution, the frequency of sabotage increases, especially in cyberspace. Their main purpose is to shake the spirit of some people, incite hatred among generations and divide the great national unity bloc.

Terrorist organizations such as Viet Tan and Viet Dynasty have thoroughly exploited the internet to create information flows that go against the flow of history, denying the great victory of April 30, distorting the country's achievements in the process of construction and innovation. On Facebook groups, Fanpages and Youtube channels, they often repeat empty phrases such as "April 30 is a day of national hatred", "Black April"; inferring and distorting the nature of our people's war to protect national independence as "civil war", "fratricidal war"...

Some reactionary organizations and political opportunists thoroughly use the internet to distort the victory of April 30, 1975.

They dig up old articles from many years ago and change the headlines to sensationalize them and post them on forums to smear and incite. Extremist websites such as Radio Free Asia (RFA) and VOA Vietnamese regularly organize "interviews" with opposition and exile elements to steer public opinion, provide biased and distorted information to attract young people. Articles such as "What do young people think about April 30?", "April 30, why so sad!", "April 30 is a sad event"... are spread on many groups and associations to sway the thinking of young people. They also build online opinion polling tools and use tricks to inflate the number of participants to create trust among readers. They even borrow the names of young people to comment, give opposing views to disrupt information...

Truth, justice and history smash evil plots

It can be seen that the arguments that reactionary organizations and political opportunists spread every year on this occasion are all old arguments. If anything, they just re-express them in a different form to better suit the development of science and technology, especially social networks. Knowing that they cannot attract most of the people, they focus on a group of young people who are limited in awareness or have discontented thoughts. But no matter how much they "talk", the light of truth, justice and history has smashed all of their cunning plots.

In fact, generations of fathers and brothers were united, ready to sacrifice everything to drive out the invading American imperialists, destroy the puppet army and government, unify the country, and bring the country back together. The great victory of April 30, 1975 went down in the history of the nation as a shining truth. It was absolutely not a "civil war" between two regions or an "ideological war" as distorted. It was the inevitable result of the long resistance war against the US, to save the country of the Vietnamese people to regain independence, freedom, and unification of the Fatherland. That victory will forever be recorded in the history of our nation as one of the most brilliant pages, a shining symbol of the complete victory of revolutionary heroism and human intelligence, and will go down in world history as a great feat of the 20th century, an event of great international importance and profound contemporary significance.

With the victory of April 30, 1975, Vietnam once again proved to history and the world that it is a resilient and indomitable country with the spirit of "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom". That spirit was continued, promoted and transformed into action by the entire Party, people and army in the process of renovation, bringing the country to rapid and sustainable development; creating a Vietnam with a new foundation, great position and high prestige in the international arena.

Over the past decades, the great national unity bloc has been constantly cultivated and developed. Our Party, State and people are always ready to welcome all overseas Vietnamese to return to contribute to their homeland and country. The flights to bring overseas Vietnamese home to avoid the epidemic have demonstrated the national spirit and compatriotism that has been passed down from generation to generation. Vietnam has been recognized by the world and considered a bright spot in successfully implementing the "dual goal" of both controlling and preventing the Covid-19 pandemic; and recovering and developing the economy, ensuring people's lives and safety.

In fact, that is the light that exposes those who are deliberately dividing the solidarity relationship, distorting and denying history, inciting hatred, and sabotaging the nation-building of our people. Through that, we can see that no argument can obscure the truth that President Ho Chi Minh concluded: "Vietnam is one, the Vietnamese people are one. Rivers can dry up, mountains can wear away, but that truth will never change"./.
