Police arrest 'director who was assassinated'
Mr. Pham Duc Thinh, Director of Southern Equipment and Materials Joint Stock Company, was once assassinated and arrested on charges of Fraudulent Appropriation of Property.
Thinh, 48 years old, was arrested by the Ministry of Public Security's Security Investigation Agency in coordination with the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police in front of a restaurant in Phu My town on the morning of January 17. The authorities took him to his home and workplace to execute a search warrant. The specific actions ofsuspectnot published yet.

Mr. Thinh was a wealthy businessman. Five years ago, he was hired by his ex-lover.gangstershot twice at the victim, but luckily escaped death. All four masterminds and organizers of the victim's assassination were sentenced to 1-15 years in prison by the People's Court of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
In 2019 and 2020, Mr. Thinh built two illegal villas and a series of constructions in the Nhon mountain area (Tan Hoa commune, Phu My town) and was repeatedly fined and forced to dismantle by the authorities.
