Mobile police detect and seize smuggled goods
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 27, the Mobile Police of Nghe An Province announced that they had just discovered and arrested a case of transporting smuggled goods worth about 100 million VND from Ha Tinh to Vinh City for sale.
Previously, at around 3:00 p.m. on September 26, upon receiving information from the public that a 16-seat car with license plate 38B-000.69 carrying smuggled goods was traveling from Huong Son, Ha Tinh to Vinh City, Nghe An for sale, the Mobile Police force quickly assigned two working groups to block the vehicle at Ben Thuy Bridge I and Ben Thuy Bridge II. At 3:30 p.m. on the same day, when the vehicle passed Ben Thuy Bridge I, the Mobile Police force signaled the vehicle to stop for inspection. At this time, there were 25 cardboard boxes containing rice cookers and microwave ovens on the vehicle.

During the inspection, driver Nguyen Thi Huong Giang (born in 1977), residing in Pho Chau town, Huong Son, Ha Tinh, was unable to present legal invoices and documents related to the above shipment, forcing the Mobile Police force to take it to the Police Department for handling. Through inspection of the above shipment, the functional force discovered 48 rice cookers and 1 microwave oven, all branded SHARP, manufactured in Thailand, worth about 100 million VND.
Currently, the Provincial Police Department of Protection and Mobility is completing the documents to hand over the above shipment to Market Management Team No. 3 under the Nghe An Market Management Department for handling according to the provisions of law.
