Mexican police found 61 bodies in an abandoned crematorium.

According to AFP, Mexican authorities said on February 6 that police had found 61 bodies, including children, in an abandoned crematorium in the Pacific resort town of Acapulco.

The Attorney General of Guerrero state, Miguel Angel Godinez, said: “We are in the process of verifying how many children, women and men are involved.”

However, Mr. Godinez did not provide details about the cause of death of these individuals.

Acapulco has suffered from drug gang violence, but it remains unclear whether the bodies found are those of murdered victims or simply corpses left there when the crematorium closed.
