Nghe An Environmental Police: Seized 3,610 detonators and 164 explosives
(Baonghean.vn) - At 2:00 p.m. on April 26, the Environmental Police force (PC49) inspected Phu Cuong Company Limited (the mining license at Pha Khao quarry in Kim Da village, Pha Danh commune, Ky Son district had expired), but the company continued to use explosives to mine stone.
At the scene, the police discovered Hoang Van Hong (born in 1977, residing in Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu district, a worker of the company) was stuffing explosive sticks and detonators into pre-drilled holes on the cliff to prepare for quarrying. The working group arrested Hong along with a snake skin next to him containing 59 explosive sticks and 10 detonators.
At the quarry's working area, the CSMT force discovered two more wooden crates containing 3,600 electric detonators and 105 industrial explosives. Pham Manh Cuong, (born in 1987, residing in Truong Thi Ward, Vinh City, who is directly representing the director of the mine management company) admitted that Phu Cuong Company Ltd. had expired its mining license in August 2011 but was still storing explosives and mining rocks with explosives.
CSMT has sealed all the evidence including 3,610 detonators and 164 explosives and brought them to the Provincial Police for handling.
