US police shoot dead black youth again

On the evening of March 6 local time, US police in Madison, Wisconsin shot and killed a 19-year-old black man in a scuffle, sparking new protests against police use of excessive force.

According to local television channel WMTV, the person shot dead was named Tony Robinson, 19 years old, a high school graduate at Sun Prairie High School.
The incident occurred on the evening of March 6, and sparked sit-ins at Madison City Hall, police said.
Police responded to a report of a man causing a disturbance, walking in the street and hitting pedestrians, Madison Police Chief Mike Koval said. Police then followed the man to a home, where Robinson attacked an officer.
During the scuffle, an officer pulled out a gun and shot Robinson dead.
Police attempted to resuscitate the young man, but the suspect later died at the hospital.
News of the shooting sparked a local outcry, with more than 100 protesters at the scene, witnesses said. Some in the crowd chanted: “Who can you trust? Not the police.”
“According to his grandmother, Robinson was a loving and caring person,” family spokesman Michael Johnson said on Facebook.
Johnson said Robinson wanted to go to college to study business, and was preparing to attend Milwaukee Area Technical College./.
