High-handed when 'relaxed'

At the age of thirty, a handsome and successful man, he had a romantic affair with a female colleague. The story was not hidden from anyone and finally reached her ears.

Being a calm woman, she tried to suppress her anger, thoroughly investigated everything and chose a time when the family was in a happy atmosphere to talk to him slowly. She told him every detail with undeniable evidence about his affair. He confessed, apologized to her and promised that it would not happen again. She also gently turned to her youngest child who was not yet 6 years old: "If your parents divorce, who will you live with?"

The girl seemed to understand nothing about divorce, but she burst into tears. That psychological blow hit him hard, he felt guilty. As for her, her trust and love for him were almost dead. Painful but often furious with jealousy, she began a "campaign" of revenge. She dominated in all areas that he had previously "controlled" and directed. Gradually, the decisiveness in the family acted as a stimulant, making her more steadfast in her behavior in society.

From a woman who was content in her job, taking care of the house, she was determined to strive and her path to promotion was very favorable. She took better care of herself, became more beautiful, more attractive and had more opportunities to socialize and meet with friends, colleagues, partners... She allowed herself to "relax" in a few beneficial relationships, not caring about the malicious comments that she was a support for this or that boss.

Although her husband felt regretful, he could not bear the gossip of the world, so he seriously and frankly asked her to stop what she was doing. She sneered, saying that he was jealous, old-fashioned, and could not stand seeing his wife better than him, that "a buffalo already covered in mud still splashes it on others". If he could not bear it, then we should break up.

He suddenly realized that he was a petty, selfish person who only loved himself and he knew that since he had an affair, her love for him had died. She continued to live with him only for the children and both parents.
