Awarding the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate to the late journalist Tran Van Thong
(Baonghean.vn) - Pursuant to Decision No. 2570-QDTTr dated December 26, 2013 of the Prime Minister, recognizing him as a Martyr and granting the Certificate of "The Fatherland's Gratitude" to the late journalist Tran Van Thong.
On the morning of February 25, 2014, Nghe An Newspaper, People's Committee of Hoa Hieu Ward - Thai Hoa Town, related organizations and family will hold a memorial service and award the Certificate of Merit to Martyr journalist Tran Van Thong.
Comrade Tran Van Thong was born on March 14, 1924, in Cam Thanh Commune, Cam Xuyen District, Ha Tinh Province. Residence: Dong Tien Hamlet, Hoa Hieu Ward, Thai Hoa Town, Nghe An.
Since 1962, comrade Tran Van Thong was an officer of the Western Nghe An Newspaper Agency (now part of Nghe An Newspaper). He died and went missing on May 23, 1965, in the brutal bombing of American planes that crazily rained down on the Phu Quy area, while on duty at the headquarters.
Nghe An Newspaper respectfully informs Party and government leaders, colleagues, and friends near and far, who have the opportunity to attend the memorial service and present the Certificate of Merit to Journalist Tran Van Thong.
The funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. the same day.
