Providing rice to flood victims in Tuong Duong district

Due to the impact of storm No. 2, flash floods and landslides occurred in Tuong Duong district, causing heavy damage to the lives, property, and crops of the people and the state.

To promptly relieve hunger for the people in the flooded areas of Tuong Duong district, on June 27, 2011, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee agreed to urgently provide the Tuong Duong District People's Committee with 50 tons of rice (including transportation costs to the commune center).

In the immediate future, the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district will allocate the district's reserve fund and mobilize resources to organize emergency purchases and distribution to promptly relieve hunger. The Department of Finance and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs will advise the Provincial People's Committee to allocate funds to the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district to compensate for the purchase of the above amount of rice.


The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to coordinate with the Provincial Flood and Storm Prevention Committee and the People's Committees of the districts to grasp the hunger situation in the recently flooded areas in the province, promptly synthesize and advise the Provincial People's Committee to propose to the Prime Minister to support rice for famine relief from the National Reserve Fund.
