Telecommunication cable falls across railway, slowing down train

(Baonghean.vn) -At 4:00 a.m. this morning, October 23, on the Thong Nhat railway (km 261+550 in block 11, Cau Giat town, Quynh Luu district), an incident occurred that hindered train operations.

The North-South freight train (number 232), running from Vinh to Hanoi, was entering Cau Giat station when a large cable of FPT Nghe An fell from a high mast and lay across the railway. Upon discovering the incident, to ensure the safety of the information system, Cau Giat Station and the Road Service staff urgently kept the train outside the signal mast to wait for the telecommunications agency to handle it. However, after waiting for a long time, no one handled it, while the passenger train NA1 on the Hanoi - Vinh route had entered the northern signal mast. Faced with the threat of delaying many trains, the unit responsible for handling the incident of the telecommunications company was not present, so the relevant units of the railway industry were forced to let the train continue to pass through the cable. As a result, the telecommunications cable was broken in half by the train.

It is known that in Nghe An, many telecommunication cables have fallen low and are dangerous to people but have not been handled by the competent authority.
