Vietnam's monkey bridge is among the scariest bridges
Travel + Leisure, the world's leading travel magazine, has just published a list of the world's scariest bridges. Although they are not rotten bridges or suspended by ropes, monkey bridges in Vietnam still make tourists' hearts skip a beat when they cross them.
Monkey bridges are often seen in the Mekong Delta, made from bamboo or dugout tree trunks with handrails that are no less challenging for passersby. It seems that only skillful monkeys can cross this bridge without falling into the water. However, that is not the reason why people named it monkey bridge, but the origin of the name comes from the shape of people walking across the bridge that really resemble monkeys.
