Hanoi Police Club officially announces new coach
(Baonghean.vn) - Coach Alexandre Polking has officially become the new head coach of Hanoi Police Club, and will have his debut match in round 22 of V.League 2023/2024.
On the evening of May 23, Hanoi Police Club announced coach Polking as the new coach of the team.
Recently, Hanoi Police Club has been negotiating with coach Polking to quickly regain stability on the coaching bench. After a period of negotiation, the two sides reached an agreement and officially signed the contract on the evening of May 23 at the team's office. The contract between Hanoi Police Club and coach Polking has a minimum term of 2 years.
However, due to the need for time to arrange work and family, coach Polking cannot lead the Hanoi Police Club in the match against Viettel The Cong Club in the upcoming round 21 of V.League 2023/2024. The coach born in 1976 will officially debut with fans in the away match of Hanoi Police Club against Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club in round 22 of V.League 2023/2024.
Coach Polking has experience and deep understanding of Southeast Asian football. He led the Thailand U23 team in 2012. In 2014, Mr. Polking led the Suphanburi Club but was fired after only 12 matches. After that, Mr. Polking moved to Bangkok United and achieved success. The Brazilian coach helped this team win the Thai runner-up position twice in 2016 and 2018.
At the end of 2020, he joined Ho Chi Minh City Club with an expensive contract but did not achieve success.
Coach Polking returned to Thailand in 2021 and helped the national team win the AFF Cup in 2020 and 2022. Despite the failure at the 31st SEA Games, overall, Mr. Polking helped the Thai team regain its No. 1 position in the region after many years of being surpassed by Vietnam.
Coming to Vietnam for the second time, coach Polking faces much greater challenges and pressure. Hanoi Police Club is different from Ho Chi Minh City Club.
