Hundred billion bridge not completed in 6 years, people use boats to cross the river
(Baonghean.vn) - Located on the Con River and almost isolated from surrounding areas, for generations, people of Phu Son commune (Tan Ky) have always wished for a bridge to facilitate travel, cultural exchange and economic development.
The people's wish seemed to come true on June 11, 2009, when a new bridge was started to connect Phu Xuan commune with Nghia Hanh commune. However, up to now, the project has not been completed. People who want to cross the river can only take a ferry.

The bridge remains unfinished despite construction starting 6 years ago. |
This project is part of the road connecting Ho Chi Minh road through Nghia Hanh commune to the center of Phu Son commune, Tan Ky district with a total budget of 117 billion VND from government bond capital.. Because the bridge has been under construction for 6 years but is still unfinished, it is very difficult for people to travel. It is still bearable in the summer, but every rainy season, danger is always lurking. Mr. Nguyen Van Luan, a resident of Nghia Hanh commune, said, "I don't understand why after all these years the project is still not finished. I don't know when people will have a bridge to travel on to relieve their suffering."

To get to school, students in Phu Son have to take a boat to the other side of the river. The rainy season is approaching, and the students are facing many risks. Therefore, it is recommended that the authorities speed up the construction progress so that the bridge can be completed soon and create favorable conditions for traffic activities and socio-economic development of the locality.
