Khe Ran suspension bridge shows signs of deterioration
(Baonghean) -Khe Ran suspension bridge (in Bong Khe commune, Con Cuong district, Nghe An) was completed and put into use in September 2010. After the recent flood, the bridge began to show signs of deterioration, threatening the safety of people and vehicles.
The left bank bridge abutment (at the beginning of Khe Ran village) has sunk, and cracks and concrete flakes have appeared on both sides of the embankment. According to local residents, the cause of the above phenomenon may be due to the construction process not following the correct procedures. Because the road roller could not be brought to the left bank bridge abutment to compact the ground, the contractor used an excavator to do so.
The left bank abutment has shown signs of deterioration.
Relevant departments need to promptly inspect and have a plan to fix the deterioration of the bridge to ensure safe traffic, limit further deterioration and damage to the bridge, causing waste of the State budget.
