Do Ro suspension bridge |
This is the situation happening at Do Ro suspension bridge across the Con River (also known as Hieu River) connecting Nghia Binh and Nghia Dong communes (Tan Ky district, Nghe An). Being present at Do Ro suspension bridge on April 19 and 20, we observed that there were 2 points where the iron railings were missing; along with that, many screws for the iron braces on the bridge surface were missing, some of the iron braces were exposed, posing a danger to traffic participants. Along with that, a wooden plank covering the bridge surface was rotten, creating a hole that could be seen through to the riverbed, causing many people to be afraid.
It is known that this damage has been going on for a long time but has not been repaired by the authorities.
Do Ro suspension bridge was put into use in late 2010. This is the largest cable-stayed bridge in Tan Ky district with a length of 194m and a width of 2m.
