Do Ro suspension bridge (Tan Ky) is seriously degraded.
(Baonghean.vn) - Hundreds of screws are missing, dozens of railings are broken, many bridge planks are rotten and damaged... directly threatening the safety of hundreds of students and thousands of people who cross the Do Ro bridge every day.
Do Ro suspension bridge crosses Con river, connecting Nghia Binh and Nghia Dong communes, is the largest cable-stayed bridge in Tan Ky district, with a length of 194 m and a width of 2 m.
Hundreds of screws on the bridge deck were stolen, causing the iron braces to bend.
Currently, hundreds of iron screws under the bridge have been lost, many iron braces have lost their screws so they have bent up in the middle of the walkway, many wooden planks have rotted, and have been "temporarily" attached by people with other wooden planks. Many students have had their wheels stuck and tripped into those damaged wooden holes. The most dangerous thing is that many iron tube railings have been stolen by thieves, leaving empty spaces, where if the wheel is carelessly pushed, the whole person can fall into the river.
People temporarily put another piece of wood in place of the rotten wood.
Mr. Vu Tuan Anh (a resident of Nghia Binh commune) was upset: I don't understand why the bridge worth billions of dong has been put into use for only 2 years but has seriously degraded, yet no authority has come to inspect or repair it.
It is known that Do Ro suspension bridge was put into use in August 2010, connecting the Ho Chi Minh trail to the communes of Nghia Dong, Nghia Thai, Nghia Hoan of Tan Ky district and up to National Highway 48 to the mountainous districts in the west of Nghe An province such as Nghia Dan, Que Phong... It is estimated that every day thousands of people pass by bicycle, motorbike and small car, every day more than 200 high school students of Nghia Binh commune cross the bridge to go to Tan Ky ethnic boarding school.
