The incident occurred at around 8:20 a.m. this morning (July 22). At that time, the suspension bridge cable broke, causing a car carrying 3 people to fall into the river.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan - Chairman of Thanh Yen Commune People's Committee said that immediately after receiving the news, the commune government quickly mobilized forces to be present at the scene to rescue, and at the same time provide first aid and medical care to the victims.
"The victims were all rescued promptly and given medical care," said the leader of Thanh Yen commune.
According to Mr. Tuan, currently, the authorities have barricaded the bridge area, inspected and assessed the current state of the bridge, and reported the situation to the provincial level for appropriate handling. At the same time, they are diverting traffic and guiding vehicles through the iron bridge below to ensure safety.
Currently, the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
