Long Son Commune (Anh Son - Nghe An) currently has nearly 1,700 households with a total natural area of ​​over 3,000 hectares, of which 2,000 hectares are planned for agricultural land; 50% of the area is hilly forest land with a small slope, suitable for the growth and development of industrial tea trees. The Party Committee and the commune government identify tea as the key industrial crop of the commune.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung in hamlet 12 plants new industrial tea trees every year. In 2008, his family bought forest land from other households in the hamlet to plant more industrial tea. Up to now, his tea business area has reached over 3 hectares, the highest in the hamlet. Mr. Dung is excited: "In recent years, my family's tea output has been quite high, in the first 4 months of 2011, we harvested over 10 tons of fresh tea buds, earning tens of millions in profit. Thanks to tea trees, my family was able to build a spacious house and my children were able to go to school properly. I think there is nothing more suitable than tea trees on this land."

Mr. Pham Ba Dong - Chairman of Long Son Commune People's Committee said: Based on the approved project to develop industrial tea trees, the commune has coordinated with agricultural extension officers of Anh Son Black Tea Enterprise and people in the tea area to provide technical guidance on nursery gardening, so every year people can be self-sufficient in over 80% of seed pots. The commune encourages people to take advantage of ineffective hilly and forest land to grow industrial tea. People who reclaim new land to plant will receive support of 2 million VND/ha.

Up to now, Long Son commune has identified industrial tea as the main crop to enrich its land. Large households have over 3 hectares, small households about 3 sao, over 50% of households in the commune have had a good income thanks to industrial tea cultivation. Up to now, the total industrial tea area of ​​the whole commune has reached nearly 260 hectares, the annual output of fresh tea buds is from 1700-2000 tons.

The goal set for 2015 is for the whole commune to have 300 hectares of tea, bringing the total tea business area in the commune to more than 700 hectares.
