Elm tree cures diseases
According to traditional medicine, the guava has a bitter, astringent taste, cool properties, and has the effect of clearing heat, detoxifying, circulating blood, stopping bleeding and disinfecting.
Many places have used elm trees to treat diseases such as toothaches and diarrhea. Elm bark is used to treat rheumatism, toothaches, stomachaches, fever, and diarrhea.
The Duoi tree is also called Duoi Xao, the Tay people call it May Soi, the tree grows wild in many places in our country. It is a woody tree, up to 10m high, the whole tree has white latex.
Leaves are stiff, alternate, obovate, about 3 - 7cm long, 3cm wide, serrated edges, very rough surface. Flowers are monoecious, male inflorescences are head-shaped with short stalks, carrying 10 - 12 flowers. Female flowers are green, grow singly or in pairs.
The berries are slightly flattened spherical, 8 - 10mm in size, with sepals that exist and partially cover the fruit. When ripe, they are yellow, edible, and sweet. Fruit season is June - November. Parts of the plant can be harvested year-round, used fresh or cut short, dried, and roasted to make medicine.

Treatment of painful, swollen pimples (not yet ruptured):Soak the latex in paper and stick it on the pimple for 3 hours, change it twice a day.
Cure urinary retention, red urine due to heat:20g of elm branches and roots, wash, slice thinly, put in a pot, add 500ml of water, boil down to 250ml of water, divide into 3 times to drink during the day, 10 days for 1 course. You can use the following medicine: 20g of elm bark, 20g of jujube root, stir-fry until golden. Pour 750ml of water, boil down to 300ml, divide into 3 times to drink during the day. 10 days for 1 course.
If accompanied by painful urination, cloudy urine:20g each of elm bark and wild jujube root (roasted until golden), 30g of white hairy root, 30g of corn silk, 30g of plantain flower, 20g of Eclipta prostrata. Pour in 750ml of water, boil down to 300ml, divide into 3 doses to drink during the day. 1 course of treatment every 10 days.
Treatment of toothache due to tooth decay:20g elm bark, thinly sliced, boil to get concentrated water to gargle.
Treat headaches, pain in both temples, forehead pain due to weather changes:Spread the resin on two pieces of white paper, 3cm in diameter, put a little lime (as big as a green bean) on the resin layer, mix the lime into the resin, then stick the two pieces of paper on both sides of the temples. Do the same with a piece of paper 1cm in diameter, stick it on the indang point (the point between the two eyebrows). Do this 1-2 times a day. Has a clear pain-relieving effect.
In addition, in some localities, people also use fried guava leaves to treat hemorrhage, dysentery and as a galactagogue.
