Ocumetics Bionic is a complex bionic lens that can increase human vision by three times compared to 20/20 vision. "You can barely see a watch from three meters away, but with the bionic lens you can see it from 9 meters away," said Gareth Webb, the expert who designed the product.
The lens is implanted in the eye in a painless procedure that takes less than 10 minutes, similar to conventional cataract surgery. This artificial product is considered safe and durable, does not cause eye irritation, eye fatigue or headaches. In addition, it can also limit the condition of cataracts in the future.
According to the Huffington Post, the contact lenses will be tested on animals before being applied to humans. Ocumetics Bionic is expected to appear in 2017 and will only be available to people over 25.
