According to people living near the scene, at the time, many customers were filling up with gas and ran away from the gas station in panic. The fire broke out from the gas pumps, and smoke billowed. The fire lasted for about 2 minutes, then a loud explosion occurred. At this time, the fire was so high that all the gas pumps were engulfed in flames. About 5 minutes later, 2 more explosions, louder than the first, occurred. After 15 minutes of receiving the report, the Tan Phu District Fire Prevention and Fighting Police dispatched 6 fire trucks and 40 soldiers to the scene.

Lieutenant Colonel Ho Van Quyen, deputy head of the Tan Phu District Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department, said that a fire truck using foam 17 technology was used to spray directly on the burning gas stations. In about 3 minutes, all 4 gas stations of this gas station were extinguished and the entire fire scene was under control.

Then we sent 4 fire trucks to spray water to cool the entire roof and surrounding area.

At the scene, the entire gas station premises, roof and 4 gas pumps were completely burned down, but there were no human casualties.
