Céline Dion stopped her career to take care of her health.

Canadian singer Celine Dion announced on Wednesday that she would be suspending “all her activities due to family and health reasons.” According to a statement posted on Celine Dion’s official website, she will be canceling her Asia tour and concerts in Las Vegas.

The page states, “After careful consideration, Céline Dion has decided to suspend all her activities indefinitely to focus 100% on the health of her husband and her family.” It should be noted that her husband, René Angélil, 72, underwent cancer surgery last December.

She wanted to focus “all her mind and strength on curing her husband's illness.”

“The most important thing for me right now is to spend all my time with René and our children,” added Céline Dion, adding that she also apologized to her fans for the “inconvenience” she caused them.

Furthermore, she herself has had health problems as she has been battling a virus that “caused inflammation of the muscles next to her vocal cords, preventing her from performing on stage since July 29.”

For all of the above reasons, Céline Dion has canceled all shows at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and the Asia tour that was planned for this fall “until further notice.”
