Poor father in shock after explosion in Nghe An

Residents of Xuan Phuc hamlet (Nghi Xuan commune, Nghi Loc) are still in shock after the explosion that occurred on the morning of January 5 at the house of Mr. Pham Ba Huong (50 years old).

Big explosion at a house, one person seriously injured

(Baonghean.vn) - A large explosion at a house in Xuan Phuc hamlet (Nghi Xuan commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An) on the morning of January 5, seriously injured a young man, cracked the house's walls, and blew off the roof.

The tremendous force of the explosion completely damaged Mr. Huong’s house, the wall collapsed. The entire corrugated iron roof was blown away. Furniture and household items were damaged and shattered.

Mr. Pham Ba Giang - Mr. Huong's neighbor said: "Around 9:00 a.m. on January 5, I was sitting in my house when I heard a loud explosion. I thought people were using explosives to break rocks to make a road behind. Seeing people in a panic, I looked over and saw Mr. Huong's house covered in smoke, Son was seriously injured, and the furniture in the house was destroyed."

After the incident, the hamlet police called the commune police and organized to protect the scene. The district police and the provincial police arrived soon after, organized an investigation of the scene to investigate the cause.

“When the police arrived, they cordoned off the scene so we didn’t know the details. Mr. Huong’s family uses a wood stove, not a gas stove,” the neighbor added.

The explosion seriously injured Pham Ba Son (born 1997), who was transferred to Hanoi for emergency treatment.

Teacher Ngo Sy Hoang - Teacher at Nghi Loc 3 High School, Son's homeroom teacher for 3 years in high school, this young man is gentle, hard-working, good at studying, and often eats vegetarian food.

“He has a talent and passion for making electronic circuit boards. In grade 11, Son won third prize in the provincial science and technology innovation competition. We are very sad about this incident. Son has now been transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of Military Hospital 103 for treatment. The injury was so severe that the doctor announced that he would have to amputate his entire right hand and one finger on his left hand. We are very sad about this incident, he is still too young, the future is still ahead of him…”.

Mr. Pham Ba Huong was stunned after the incident with his son. Son's mother fainted when she heard that her only child had an accident. Son's treatment had to be arranged by his uncle and his wife.

“My wife and I were weeding corn in the field when we heard a loud explosion. I had a feeling something was wrong, so I cycled home and saw the house in ruins and my child was seriously injured. At that moment, I was extremely panicked. More than 20 million VND in cash and 1.5 taels of gold kept in the chest were also gone, only the chest lid was thrown into the garden. From yesterday until now, all the expenses for Son's treatment have been paid for by his brothers and friends…”, Mr. Huong added.

Son is currently a third-year student at Nghe An University of Technical Education. Faced with Son's plight, his teachers and former classmates have called for help and support for part of his treatment costs. Mr. Ngo Sy Hoang said that his former classmates and teachers have raised about 20 million VND. This evening, Mr. Hoang will go to Hanoi to visit and give everyone's support money for Son's treatment.

The cause of the incident is currently being investigated by the authorities.
