The President of the Association for Children with Cerebral Palsy (APAC), Ms. Norma Angélica Delgadillo Guerrero, highly appreciated the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment performed by Vietnamese doctors on children with brain diseases who are currently being treated at an APAC rehabilitation center.
Ms. Guerrero said that the plan is to propose to the state government, the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico and the Autonomous University of Zacatecas to increase the number of Vietnamese acupuncturists, or to cooperate with Cuban acupuncturists who have practiced in Vietnam to meet the treatment needs not only for children with cerebral palsy, but also for other disabled children and to turn this acupuncture activity into an official service.

In addition, APAC also plans to invite Vietnamese acupuncturists to teach massage techniques to patient families to meet the growing needs of local people and reduce the burden on the APAC Center, which has only 10 beds for acupuncture treatment.
Established in 1997, the APAC rehabilitation center based in Zacatecas state is currently treating and nurturing 120 children with cerebral palsy as outpatients (daytime treatment) and is highly appreciated in terms of tripartite cooperation between the state government, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, of which the Central Acupuncture Institute is the direct unit, and the Autonomous University of Zacatecas. The initiative to introduce acupuncture into treatment services at this center was only implemented during Professor Nguyen Tai Thu's working visit to Mexico 2 years ago.
