Correcting the publication of confusing admission score data

August 6, 2015 08:24

On August 5, a series of universities announced admission application data on their websites.

However, many candidates (TS) reflected that each school's data was done differently, making it difficult to search and follow in a puzzle-like manner, different from previous instructions from the Ministry of Education and Training.

On the afternoon of August 5, speaking to the Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Bui Van Ga said: "Schools doing so are violating regulations and cannot help candidates in any way. Meanwhile, candidates need to know their position and how many points they need to pass in order to withdraw their applications."

Mr. Ga said: The Ministry has sent a document to all schools about the announcement of information on registration for the first round of admission and requires schools to comply with the 2015 university and college admission regulations. Accordingly, in order for candidates to have full information for registration, schools must announce information every three days and must comply with the regulations on publicizing the list of candidates registering for admission, arranged in order by total score from top to bottom and clearly stating the quota of each major (group of majors).

The Ministry encourages schools to update information daily. This information must be maintained regularly and continuously throughout the admission period; do not let candidates misunderstand the term "provisional admission". Absolutely do not issue admission notices or certificates of admission, contrary to the regulations in the 2015 university and college admission regulations.

“Schools must make adjustments in the coming days to make it easier for TS to follow. Schools should learn from Can Tho University’s scoring statistics method, which is very detailed, specific, and easy to understand,” said Mr. Ga.
