(Baonghean) - On February 12, 2014, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document No. 707 agreeing in principle to terminate the activities of the inter-agency team inspecting and handling illegal mining activities in the area, in accordance with Decision No. 163/QD-UBND-NC dated January 14, 2013 of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the same time, the Provincial Police Department is tasked with leading and coordinating with relevant departments, agencies, and localities to summarize the implementation of Decision 163/QD-UBND-NC dated January 14, 2013, of the Provincial People's Committee before March 5, 2014. It is directed to instruct professional departments and local police forces to continue inspecting, monitoring, and handling illegal mining activities; and to actively advise localities on improving state management of minerals. The Department of Construction, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and the People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns, according to their functions and duties, should strengthen state management measures regarding minerals and prevent re-offending; the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development should coordinate with localities to inspect and handle cases of encroachment on forest land and deforestation for mineral exploitation. The Department of Transport directs the Traffic Inspection force to coordinate with the Provincial Police and local authorities to regularly inspect and handle illegal mining activities on river routes that cause landslides and riverbed deviations, affecting the production and lives of the people; Nghe An Radio and Television Station and Nghe An Newspaper regularly report and produce documentaries reflecting violations in mineral exploitation and the responsibilities of organizations and individuals in state management of minerals so that Party committees and authorities at all levels can direct corrective and handling measures promptly.

The relevant departments and agencies, the Radio and Television Station, the Nghe An Newspaper, and the People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns are requested to seriously implement this directive.
