Rectifying passenger transport activities

(Baonghean.vn) -In recent times, in the field of passenger transport business vehicle management, the authorities have organized patrols, controls, and strictly handled violations. However, the reality shows that there are still many bus companies and many units that deliberately violate the passenger transport business.

Violations are often: Vehicles do not have enough documents for transport business (not registered as a transport company, do not have a business license... commonly called illegal vehicles), such as vehicles of Tien Thanh Company. Vehicles often leave the station and only enter the station when there is enforcement by the authorities. Vehicles using contract badges to run fixed routes (vehicles of Tuan Viet Company...) often park on the sidewalk of Le Loi Street opposite the gate of Vinh Bus Station from 11am to 2pm. Vehicles departing from the station in circles, turning around, stopping to pick up passengers in violation of regulations. Vehicles running from district to district, district to inter-provincial but do not have any documents for passenger transport business and some vehicles with Lao license plates operating passenger transport business in Nghe An province do not participate in the station. Transport enterprises open ticket sales points and organize passenger pick-up and drop-off in violation of regulations (Hoang Long Company at 402 Nguyen Trai Street). 16-seat passenger buses often stop to pick up and drop off passengers in violation of regulations in hospital areas, universities, and colleges (Quynh Luu, Con Cuong buses, etc.). Buses departing from Vinh bus station after 9 p.m. stop on Le Loi street, causing disorder in traffic safety. Taxis and private cars picking up and dropping off passengers cause chaos in front of Vinh bus station gate, etc.

Faced with this situation, on October 1, 2012, Vinh City Police held a meeting with functional forces, bus station representatives, and units with many passenger transport vehicles to rectify the above situation. At this meeting, bus station representatives requested that functional forces such as traffic police, traffic inspectors, etc. need to strengthen inspection and strictly handle vehicles and businesses that violate regulations on passenger transport, thoroughly handle the number of vehicles violating the monthly list reported by the Bus Station Joint Stock Company; inspect and handle violations of picking up and dropping off passengers in violation of regulations at the ticket sales point at 402 Nguyen Trai Street of Hoang Long Company; request the revocation of fixed route licenses for vehicles that repeatedly violate regulations...

A representative of the Vinh City Police leadership said that from now until the end of the year are the peak months for passenger transport. The City Police will direct its subordinate units, mobilize working groups and teams to work and closely coordinate with the Provincial Police Traffic Police, Traffic Inspectorate... to regularly patrol, control, and strictly handle vehicles that violate traffic safety and order effectively.

Hopefully, with the drastic participation of functional forces and related units, passenger transport activities in Vinh city in particular and the whole province in general will soon be rectified, so that there will no longer be the situation of "kidnapping and abandoning the disc" like in previous campaigns.
