Rectifying the situation of electronic news sites operating against regulations
(Baonghean.vn)- On November 13, 2012, the Propaganda Department of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 471-CV/BTGTU requesting to inspect and handle electronic news sites that operate in violation of regulations.
The document clearly states: Recently, a number of companies and enterprises have established electronic news sites operating as press agencies in Nghe An province, mainly operating under the form of contracts for propaganda and advertising, influencing a number of agencies, units and enterprises in Nghe An province. Among them are some electronic news sites such as:www.kinhtehoinhap.vn(owned by Multimedia Communications Joint Stock Company, branch at No. 29, Phan Dang Luu Street, Vinh City);http://lamhongonline.vn(belonging to E-LINK Information and Communication Technology Joint Stock Company, headquartered in Trung Do ward, Vinh city); and some electronic news sites with unknown management organization and specific address, such ashttp://ngheannews.vn… violated State regulations on information activities on the Internet.
The companies and enterprises that own the above-mentioned electronic news sites have issued cards and letters of introduction to employees to "contact for work, collect materials for writing articles", request and mobilize organizations and enterprises, even go to poor communes in remote areas to carry out advertising activities, causing difficulties for organizations and establishments. Right from the time of establishment, the above-mentioned companies and enterprises have deliberately named themselves, deliberately ambiguous so that others mistake them for press agencies, and mistake their employees for reporters, so many organizations and establishments have mistaken them for press agencies, unintentionally creating opportunities for these electronic news sites to operate in violation of the law.
To prevent wrongdoing and violations of electronic news sites, and ensure a healthy and legal press environment, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department recommends that the Department of Information and Communications coordinate with relevant authorities to inspect and handle the above information content. District, city, town Party Committees, affiliated Party Committees, provincial departments, branches and sectors have a form of information provision and propaganda so that organizations and unions in the political system, agencies, units and enterprises in the area can know to raise awareness and vigilance, to avoid some enterprises and electronic news sites taking advantage of ignorance and lack of information to operate in violation of regulations, affecting the press environment and causing difficulties and troubles for organizations, agencies, units and enterprises in the area.
Press agencies in the province, representative agencies, and resident press agencies should pay attention to, detect, and denounce acts of impersonating the press and reporters to operate in violation of the law in the province, promptly orient public opinion, and contribute to providing information for competent authorities to inspect and strictly handle acts and activities that violate the law of the above-mentioned electronic news sites.
