(Baonghean) - Orphaned since childhood, the two brothers depended on each other, working many jobs to make a living, but life was always full of misfortunes for Nguyen Van Nguyen - in hamlet 9, Nam Lam, Dien Lam commune (Dien Chau) due to terrible diseases. His life could only be counted day by day without the help and sharing of the community.

In 1989, when he was only two years old, Nguyen Van Nguyen and his brother Nguyen Van Hung, who was only four years old at the time, became orphans. Due to overwork, illness, and lack of money for medical treatment, both Nguyen's parents passed away within a year. The only property their parents left for the two brothers was a dilapidated two-room thatched house. The two children had to live with their uncle.

People in Dien Lam and many other places have donated about 30 million VND to support him so he can continue treatment at Phu Dien General Hospital.

However, because he was also poor, his wife died early and he had to raise 2 children alone, and his disabled younger brother had to live in one place, so the Nguyen brothers had to rely on neighbors for their daily meals. At the same age, the children were taken care of by their parents and went to school, but when the Nguyen brothers were 8 and 10 years old, they had to rent houses for many families in the commune to have food.

A little older, the two brothers went into the forest to collect firewood and dig up logs to sell. However, his health was too weak to do heavy work, so at the age of 13, Nguyen decided to join a charity organization to sell toothpicks. First, he went to Thanh Hoa and then to Long An province. Passing through dozens of provinces and cities, people in many places became familiar with the image of a skinny boy, his back bent close to the ground, selling toothpicks for every penny to have food to eat every day.

Hospital fees do not allow Nguyen to receive long-term treatment at the hospital.

One morning, people in Vinh Long city found Nguyen lying unconscious on the sidewalk so they took him to the hospital. There, doctors diagnosed that Nguyen had pleural effusion which was very difficult to treat. Thanks to the kindness of doctors and people in Vinh Long city who donated tens of millions of dong, he was able to stay in the hospital for treatment. Because he could not eat or breathe naturally, doctors had to insert a tube in his neck so that he could breathe and pump food for him. However, because he was too weak and sick, after 3 months in the hospital, doctors hired a car to take him back to his hometown of Dien Lam.

Currently, Nguyen's health is very critical and it is difficult to maintain life in such dire circumstances. Thuong Nguyen, the people of Dien Lam and many other places have donated about 30 million VND to support him so that he can continue treatment at Phu Dien General Hospital. However, due to poor health, Nguyen was transferred to Nghe An Tuberculosis Hospital. Here, the doctors said that Nguyen needs surgery and active treatment to maintain life. However, the cost of treatment is too large, currently his brother's situation is very difficult, because his wife has just passed away.

Nguyen's tragic situation is in dire need of attention, help and support from the community, philanthropists and medical staff to help Nguyen gain more strength, overcome his illness and return to normal life.
