Every year, Lam's farms sell about 2,000 breeding animals; 1.5 tons of commercial bamboo rats with a total revenue of over 2 billion VND, minus expenses, net profit of over 1 billion. This species of bamboo rat, also known as "moldy mouse", is afraid of noise and loves to eat bamboo and sugarcane in the dark. Currently, many farmers develop their household economy by raising bamboo rats quite effectively. There are 4 different species of mountain bamboo rats: brown bamboo rats, small bamboo rats, large bamboo rats, and yellow-cheeked bamboo rats. Mountain bamboo rat meat is very delicious, cool, and rich in protein, so many people seek to buy it.
