Seeing my friend getting better day by day and then returning to normal life, I understood the preciousness of drops of blood to save lives. And I started donating blood regularly. Because in reality, sometimes just sharing a little bit of your blood can save a person's life." Thai Hoang Quan lost his father when he was only 13 months old. His mother raised Quan and his brother to become good people. Quan is a former student of class K8A - Mechanical Engineering, Vinh University of Technical Education. Quan has just graduated from university and is currently a sales consultant for several mechanical companies in Vinh city.
Thanks to his active participation in charity activities, Quan had the opportunity to meet, interact and exchange with many friends. Through that, the young man learned about the “Vinh Blood Bank” Club and quickly registered to participate in the club’s activities.
Not only participating in blood donation campaigns in the locality, Quan also participated in direct blood donation for cases in urgent need of blood. Quan said: “One night in 2013, I was sleeping and suddenly woke up because the phone rang at midnight from Vinh Live Blood Bank. And the information I received was that a pregnant woman with the same blood type as me was in critical condition and needed a direct blood transfusion. Even though it was late at night, I and 3 other friends did not hesitate, rushing on the deserted road to get to the hospital in time to save the person.”

“Although it is not much, it can help the patient’s family cover some of the expenses. Because most of the time when they are hospitalized, the family is already in trouble,” Mr. Quan confided.
Over the years, Thai Hoang Quan has received many certificates of merit from the Central Red Cross Society, certificates of merit from the Ministry of Health, commemorative medals from the Central Youth Union and gifts from the Vice President for his many outstanding achievements in the voluntary blood donation movement...
