Drought-resistant lemons with high income in Nam Dan

(Baonghean.vn) - People in the 5 South region of Nam Dan district are entering the peak season of lemon harvest. The high price of lemons while the lemon crop is abundant makes people excited.

Region 5 South of Nam Dan district includes the communes of Nam Kim, Khanh Son, Nam Phuc, Nam Trung, Nam Cuong with a total of 220 hectares of lemons. Each year, Region 5 South supplies the market with about 3 thousand tons of lemons, with an average yield of 12-14 tons/ha, of which the main crop is about 10 tons and the off-season is about 2 tons/ha.

Off-season lemon garden of Mr. Nguyen Thien Hai, hamlet 15, Khanh Son commune. With 4 sao, the first harvest yielded more than 700 kg of fruit, earning nearly 50 million VND.

Mr. Ho Quang Thang's lemon garden in hamlet 15, Khanh Son commune is one of the most productive off-season lemon gardens, yielding nearly 2 tons of lemons each year.

This year's lemon crop in the 5th South region is bumper and has good prices. Lemons sold in the garden cost nearly 30,000 VND/kg, bringing hundreds of millions of VND in income to the people.
