(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of May 20, at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, the Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to welcome the group of students with high achievements returning from the 15th Asia-Pacific Physics Competition. Attending and sharing the joy with the teachers and students of the school was comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The 2004 Asian Physics Olympiad was held at the National University of Singapore with 275 students from 27 countries participating. With 2 students selected for the Vietnamese team, Phan Boi Chau High School was the school with the largest number of students participating and achieved the highest results, in which Cao Ngoc Thai won the Gold Medal and Nguyen Ngoc Khanh won the Bronze Medal. Thai's Gold Medal was also the only Gold Medal of the Vietnamese delegation and the highest result of the Vietnamese delegation from 2002 to present.
At the closing ceremony, on behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh warmly praised the efforts of the students and teachers in the school, especially the two teachers Tran Van Nga and Nguyen Thi Tho An who directly trained the students. On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh presented flowers and awards from the provincial People's Committee to promptly encourage the efforts of the students and teachers. The provincial scholarship fund also donated 69.5 million VND to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.
On this occasion, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted summarized the 2013-2014 school year. This is the year the school celebrates its 50th anniversary of the specialized system and its 40th anniversary with many outstanding achievements: in addition to two students winning prizes at the Asian Physics Olympiad, the school also has 84 students winning national excellent student prizes, ranking first among high schools in the country with 4 first prizes, 33 second prizes, and 16 candidates for the second round of selecting students to compete in the international Olympiad in the subjects of mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics and Russian.
