The joy of parents when receiving free porridge from volunteers.
In the morning alone, nearly 600 charity porridge portions were handed out to poor sick children. Trinh Thu Huong - Head of Tia Sang Volunteer Club said: "This is the second time Tia Sang Club has organized a program to distribute free porridge to sick children atBNghe An Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital. In 2012, the Club also provided 1,200 free porridges and 1,200 gifts for children on the occasion of Children's Day. To have funds to organize charity programs, we have to rely on the kind hearts of everyone to help.
Through the distribution of free charity porridge, Tia Sang Volunteer Club also called on the community to join hands to help two unfortunate children, Hoang Xuan Phap (14 months old, in Hung Nguyen) and Thai Huu Hoang (2 years old, Yen Thanh) with congenital heart disease who have just undergone surgery. The families of these two children are poor, so the cost of treatment and care is very expensive. This is a meaningful and humane activity that young people want to share with children on Children's Day this year.
Most of the volunteers who join Tia Sang Club are students from universities, colleges and high schools in Vinh City. For the first time following the volunteers to distribute charity porridge to sick children, Le Thi Thuy - Class 11T3,THa Huy Tap High School, shared: "Coming to the children with difficult circumstances being treated in the hospital, we feel that we have to do more to help them. Participating in distributing porridge to the children, I feel very happy because I have contributed a small part so that the children can have a delicious and nutritious porridge meal."
Doctor Tran Doan Chung - Secretary of the Youth Union of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, said: "Currently, the number of children coming for treatment at Nghe An Children's Hospital is very large, with about 400 - 600 children receiving inpatient treatment, nearly 700 children coming for examination every day. Among them, many poor children are children of poor families, ethnic minorities with difficult circumstances.Bowls of love porridge not only have great spiritual meaning to encourage children and parents, but also help ease some of their suffering.heavy hospital bills, medicine
Dr. Chung added that every year, on occasions such as the Mid-Autumn Festival and Children's Day June 1, individuals and organizations organize charity programs to share the difficulties of families with children being treated here. "Our hospital has welcomed many charity groups from different organizations, including young volunteers from universities, colleges, and high schools to distribute free porridge from self-raised funds, so it is very valuable. This is a small but useful and practical work, thereby contributing to educating and enhancing the responsibility of young people for the community," said Dr. Chung.
As planned, on the evening of May 31, Tia Sang Volunteer Club will organize a Children's Day program for children being treated at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital./.
