Europe prepares to meet on Ukraine with 'more crises than usual'
(Baonghean.vn) - European Union foreign ministers will meet in Brussels to discuss the Ukraine issue on January 23, but it is predicted that no good news will be announced. Many EU countries are concerned and are no longer willing to invest in Ukraine.

According to RT on January 23, the German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung reported that since the conflict broke out in Ukraine, EU foreign ministers have been holding regular meetings to discuss the situation. The upcoming meeting in Brussels will be “more crisis-ridden than usual,” and the reason for this is the bad war situation.
The German publication reiterates that the Ukrainian offensive has failed. The Ukrainian armed forces are trying to hold the line. However, the support from Kiev's main allies, the United States and the EU, will not last much longer.
"Therefore, there are concerns in Europe that Ukraine could lose the conflict this year, or at least face serious difficulties," the Suddeutsche Zeitung newspaper quoted a senior European government official as saying.
According to Suddeutsche Zeitung, Kiev has stopped providing Brussels with reliable information, instead trying to stir up optimism "because Kiev is afraid that the West will stop investing in the conflict, which is losing".
German diplomats once again played the role of advocates for Ukraine at the EU foreign ministers’ meeting, believing that other EU member states, primarily France, Italy and Spain, were only supporting it in words, not in action. In fact, these countries did not believe in Ukraine’s prospects.
"The gap between Paris' sometimes bombastic statements in support of Ukraine and France's tangible contribution to achieving its goals is quite large. For example, Germany promised to allocate 8 billion euros this year to Kiev, the Netherlands - 2.5 billion euros. However, the diplomatic world has never heard anything similar from France," the Suddeutsche Zeitung newspaper said.
Suddeutsche Zeitung pointed out that at the EU foreign ministers' meeting in Brussels on January 23, French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejournet will have to clarify those policies of Paris./.
