Chau Hanh with the concrete road movement
(Baonghean.vn) -Chau Hanh commune is not a pilot commune for new rural construction in the mountainous district of Quy Chau. However, in 2014, Chau Hanh commune was allocated the target of concreting 4.2 km of village roads.Due to its practical effectiveness and appropriate approach, the rural road construction program in Chau Hanh commune has been widely supported by the people. Especially the movement of donating land for road construction.
Having the opportunity to visit Ke Bang village, Chau Hanh commune, we were really impressed when riding motorbikes on the flat concrete village roads. Mr. Lang Trong Kham, Head of Ke Bang village happily said: After the upgrading policy, the village has implemented the construction of 6 internal village roads with a total length of more than 750 meters. To complete these roads, the villagers had to cut down 197 trees, demolish 1,095 m2 of fences, 5 iron gates, 2 kiosks, fill in 2 water wells... with a total value of nearly 1 billion VND. Typical examples in this movement are the family of Mr. Lu Trung Hoa, the family of Mr. Lang Cong and Mrs. Lang Thi Lien... Or the family of Mr. Vi Van Chuyen, who was not in the clearance area but still voluntarily cut down dozens of valuable perennial trees and contributed millions of VND in cash. “My house is far from the road, but I think I am a party member. If I don’t set an example now, no one will follow. Although there are some disadvantages, in return, the roads are now convenient and clean, and the village’s appearance has become more spacious,” Mr. Chuyen shared. Ke Bang residents also contributed money to buy 256.5m3crushed stone, 234.6 m3sand, mobilized over a thousand working days to build roads. Up to now, 100% of the internal roads have been concreted.

According to Mr. Vi Van Hanh, Vice Chairman of Chau Hanh Commune People's Committee, not only Ke Bang village, but also Dong Minh, Minh Tien, Ta Lanh, Na Xen, Na Ca, Ta Soi, Khe Han and Minh Chau villages have completed 100% of village roads and alleys. During the implementation process, people have promoted the spirit of solidarity, joined hands to contribute and mobilize all resources to create a competitive movement between households, villages and other villages, and roads competing with other roads. By the end of August 2014, Chau Hanh commune had completed 32 intra-village roads with a total length of 4.2 km.
Despite many difficulties, with creative approaches and the ability to promote the internal strength of the people, Chau Hanh commune has achieved encouraging results. In the future, the locality will actively complete the remaining village roads under the State's cement support mechanism with a total registered length of up to 10 km.
