The festival begins with a ceremony to worship the gods by prestigious people of the commune to pray for a new year of favorable weather, good crops, and people's solidarity in working and producing, building a prosperous life and a prosperous homeland.

In 2014, Chau Kim commune had a successful winter-spring crop and summer-autumn crop, many production models were effectively implemented such as: large-scale field model, high-quality commercial rice model Japonina 3, cabbage monoculture model; model of converting crop structure on ineffective rice land; model of raising chickens and ducks in the direction of goods; model of raising breeding sows. The work of field improvement and land consolidation was focused on, agricultural mechanization was promoted and completely replaced the pulling force of livestock. The area of wet rice cultivation reached 424 hectares, the average yield reached 55.58 quintals/hectare. The total output of wet rice was estimated at 2,183 tons, the average food per capita reached 480.7kg/person.
