Luxury cars out of stock, showrooms refuse customers to take early Tet holiday
With less than a month left until Tet, there are still more than 100 customers waiting to get their cars. The dealership owner has no choice but to refuse all new customers in order to deliver all the goods to customers who have already paid in advance so that they can have time for Tet holiday.
Supply cannot meet demand.
Mercedes-Benz Vietnam said there are currently hundreds of customers waiting to receive new cars.
The new C-Class was launched on November 1, 2014, and after 2 months, there were nearly 600 orders. By early January 2015, the cars began to be delivered to customers, and there are still hundreds of customers waiting to receive their cars for Tet.
A Lexus representative recently said that there are currently more than 100 customers waiting to receive Lexus cars for Tet. To own a genuine Lexus, many Vietnamese customers may have to wait nearly half a year. For Lexus LX models, customers will have to wait 4-5 months to buy.
The same is true for Audi. For the Audi A3, customers have to wait about 3 months, and for the A4, they have to wait until June 2015 to receive their car. Unexpected market demand is the main reason for the long wait.

Vietnam's luxury car market in 2014 had a growth rate of over 20%. |
Not only cars priced from 6 billion VND or less, even cars priced at 10 billion VND are also lined up to buy, even though they have not been launched yet. The Maybach S600 model, expected to be launched globally in early February 2015, when it arrived in Vietnam, priced at over 9.6 billion VND, has dozens of customers ordering it. In 2015, this company only dared to plan to sell 50 cars, but with this situation, this company may have to reconsider.
The Vietnamese luxury car market in 2014 had a growth rate of over 20%. Mercedes-Benz Vietnam is leading with 2,467 cars sold, up 43% compared to 2013. Next is BMW, which sold nearly 1,300 cars in 2014, up 32% compared to 2013. Audi ranked third with about 800 cars and a growth rate of over 20%. Lexus has just entered the market, but in 2014 sold 385 cars.
Race to open dealerships
Luxury cars are only for the rich. For these people, money is not an issue, what they demand is quality service. Therefore, car companies must also invest in opening high-class dealerships to satisfy rich customers.
Although Lexus entered the market later than the three "big guys" from Germany and its sales volume is still modest, it does not hide its ambition in the Vietnamese market when it continuously expands its dealerships. After the first showroom in Saigon, the company recently opened a second dealership in Hanoi. It is expected that Lexus will continue to open a number of new dealerships in key locations across the country in the near future.

Car companies also have to invest in opening classy dealerships to cater to rich customers. |
Audi Vietnam representative also admitted that facilities are an important factor in creating a first impression with customers and that is an important reason for the strong increase in sales. However, to have a worthy dealer is really difficult because of the high cost for prime locations with large areas. Despite the high cost, Audi said that in the coming time, it will continue to invest in new dealers in Ho Chi Minh City due to high customer demand.
BMW has also continuously opened more dealerships in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with the unique trick of connecting directly with professional engineers in Munich (Germany). Any customer questions about the car's information are answered.
To date, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam is the luxury car company with the largest distribution network with 11 dealerships. The cost of each dealership is at least 5 million USD, up to 10 million USD.
Not only do luxury car companies expand their distribution systems, they also compete fiercely in customer service. Competing car companies offer very special services such as customers only need to use the car and leave the rest to us.
If you encounter a problem on the road, no matter where or for what reason, just pick up the phone and someone will come to fix it, provide a temporary car or pick you up so you can finish your trip. When there is no parking space in a crowded place in the city, just call and notify the location, someone will come to take the car to the store, and when you call, they will bring it back, completely free of charge...
According to businesses, with luxury cars, no one will say that BMW is more beautiful than Mercedes, Audi or Lexus. People only talk about which car they like better. And it is customer service that will decide in the competition between brands.
