Fire at 5-star hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

The fire broke out on the afternoon of July 28 at the Sofitel Saigon Plaza Hotel, located on Le Duan Street, District 1 (a 5-star, top luxury hotel in Ho Chi Minh City), causing hundreds of guests and hotel staff to panic and run outside. Passersby were shocked by the huge, black column of smoke rising higher and higher.


According to witnesses, smoke and fire broke out at 2:00 p.m. on the 4th floor. The alarm sounded and people panicked, trying to escape through the black smoke.

The on-site fire fighting force quickly used equipment to put out the fire. Upon receiving the report, the Fire Police immediately dispatched fire trucks and ladder trucks to the scene to work together to put out the fire.

The fire did not cause any casualties, and property damage has not been estimated. Upon inspection, it was determined that the fire broke out at the ventilation fan on the 4th floor. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
