Fire at 63-storey hotel in Dubai
On the evening of December 31, a major fire broke out at the Address Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The incident happened just hours before the 2016 New Year's Eve celebrations and the hotel is located near the world's tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa, where the New Year's Eve fireworks display took place.
Reuters news agency quoted witnesses as saying that a large fire had engulfed a large part of the 63-storey hotel building. Immediately, everyone in the hotel was evacuated.
