After so many years of effort, today it has come true, which is a great happiness for us. Knowing that UNESCO is considering recognizing Vi Dam of Nghe An as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, it is a great happiness for artists, for those who work in the profession like us. To have such a set of documents for consideration, it must be said that the merit of our predecessors is very great, it is a whole history and culture that our ancestors left behind, passed down from generation to generation so that now the world knows and cares about our Vi Dam melodies.

Vi and Dam folk songs are the voice of the people, speaking and singing, singing and speaking. When the Nghe people lose their voice, they will lose their Vi and Dam singing, that is why nowhere else has a folk song like Nghe. To have a rich treasure of Vi and Dam folk songs like today, in the past, many classes of people participated in building it, that is the class of workers, farmers, soldiers and especially the class of intellectuals. In that treasure, there are many verses of learned nature, with opposite words and meanings.
