(Baonghean) -When thinking about Nghe An, people often think of a bowl of green tea - a rustic, simple but very familiar drink. Now in Nghe An, there is another popular drink, which is Dung Tea - a specialty of Quynh Luu district.

Many guests from far away love to use it.

If you just look at it and don’t drink it, it’s hard for an uninitiated person to tell the difference between green tea and Dung tea, because both have the same golden color. However, unlike the astringent, strong taste of green tea, Dung tea is sweet and cool on the tip of the tongue after just a small sip. This drink is not as sweet as the Northern water of the plant, or as bitter as the Vằng tea or Vối tea. Dung tea is also a remedy for diseases, especially stomach and duodenal diseases. Dung tea is also a food because it can soothe hunger pangs.

Dung tea is called a specialty of Quynh land, but in fact Dung tea is only available in some mountainous communes of Quynh Luu district. No one grows Dung tea, it grows naturally in the forest and you have to go quite deep to pick it. Dung tea can be drunk fresh or dried, so many people who come from far away and pass by Quynh Luu often buy it to make drinks gradually. The good thing about Dung tea is that it can be used as a drink for the whole family because it tastes cool, sweet and very easy to drink, when hungry you can drink two or three cups at a time and it is still normal.

The owner of Hoang Nhan restaurant (located on Highway 1A) has a very creative way of "advertising", which is that after finishing the meal, customers will be offered a cup of Dung tea. If the customer likes it, the restaurant will introduce and invite them to buy it. Dung tea is packaged with a very attractive introduction: Dung tea is delicious, sweet and fragrant to the last drop". Ms. Nhan (owner of Hoang Nhan restaurant) told us: "Since selling this product, customers from all over the country have asked to buy it quite a lot, I have to continuously order from the local people to have enough goods in time".
