Last season's Premier League champions looked set to close the gap on the top four to two points when they took the lead through Morata, with the Spanish striker easily heading into an empty net after goalkeeper Hugo Lloris had slipped out to meet the ball.

However, the turning point came in the first half's injury time. Midfielder Eriksen scored a masterpiece with a 30-meter strike that gave goalkeeper Willy Caballero no chance of stopping.

Eriksen's strike opened the game up for Tottenham as they were not forced to attack in the second half. In a tight game, a classy assist from Eric Dier's own half put Dele Alli in a one-on-one position and the England midfielder made no mistake about putting Tottenham ahead.

Just a few minutes later, Alli completed his double from a quick counter-attack. This goal also sealed the score 3-1 for Tottenham and helped "The Rooster" increase the gap with Chelsea to eight points. Both teams have seven more matches to finish the Premier League season and this gap is considered safe.

The London derby in round 32 is of particular importance to the race for the top 4. This is considered a must-win match for Chelsea if they want to maintain their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

History is on the home side's side as Tottenham have won just 18 of their 27 league away games at Stamford Bridge since 1990.

However, current form has decided the outcome of the game. Chelsea have won just three of their nine Premier League games in 2018 and looked helpless against their city rivals.

Meanwhile, Tottenham, despite not having Harry Kane from the start, still dominated in terms of control and showed their mettle even when they were behind.

Chelsea dominated possession at times after taking the lead and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris had to work hard to keep Tottenham from conceding more. But Tottenham were not to be bullied.

They have not lost in the Premier League since December 16 last year and know how to bounce back from difficult times, with one of their leaders, Christian Eriksen, doing just that with a long-range strike that left goalkeeper Caballero helpless.

When Tottenham's spirit is up, this young team is almost unstoppable. The combination between England internationals Eric Dier and Dele Alli is worthy of being a model on the counter-attack.

Alli's subsequent goal not only sealed the victory for Tottenham but also ended Chelsea's chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season, and possibly the chair that coach Conte is sitting on.
