There is only one first prize in Math in the national exam for excellent students.
Among 460 students participating in the national math competition, only Nguyen Tuan Hai Dang, a student majoring in Natural Sciences (Hanoi National University) won first prize with 33 points.

Sharing with VnExpress, Head of the Examination Department, Department of Examination and Education Quality Assessment (Ministry of Education and Training) Nguyen Duy Kha said that the Examination Council of the 2015 National Excellent Student Examination has completed the marking and awarding.
Hanoi National University had 66 prize-winning contestants, including 5 first prizes, 24 second prizes and 25 third prizes. Notably, Nguyen Tuan Hai Dang, a student majoring in Natural Sciences, won first prize in Mathematics with 33 points.
Hanoi had 169 contestants, of which 140 won prizes. Of these, 10 won first prizes, 47 won second prizes, and 42 won third prizes.
Ho Chi Minh City had 52 prize-winning contestants, of which only one first prize was won by student Lam Phuoc Nguyen (Chinese subject), a student from Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted. In addition, the city had 18 third prizes and 11 second prizes.

Regarding Mathematics, Mr. Tran Nam Dung (University of Natural Sciences, Ho Chi Minh City National University) assessed that in this year's exam, the most outstanding achievement belonged to the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences (Hanoi National University) when it won one first prize, three second prizes, five third prizes, and one consolation prize.
Other teams with impressive achievements include: Nghe An (8 second-place, 1 third-place, 1 consolation prize), Da Nang (4 second-place, 3 third-place, 1 consolation prize), Hanoi National University of Education (4 second-place, 1 third-place, 4 consolation prizes), Ha Tinh (3 second-place, 6 third-place, 1 consolation prize). Next are the gifted high school teams of Ho Chi Minh City National University, Nam Dinh, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh. Especially Binh Dinh, after many years of not-so-remarkable achievements, still has 2 second-place, 2 third-place, 2 consolation prizes.
This year's Math competition saw the rise of teams that were rarely mentioned in the national math competition, namely Binh Duong, Vinh Long, Lam Dong, all of whom won 2 consolation prizes. In particular, the Dak Nong team (one of the youngest teams) won its first 2 national prizes: 2 consolation prizes.
This year, more than 4,350 students nationwide took the exam, held in 356 exam rooms in the provinces. 1,200 invigilators were mobilized to supervise the exam, including teachers from specialized schools and high school teachers, arranged according to the principle of having at least teachers from two other units to supervise the exam at a third unit. The number of students taking the exam in the following subjects: Math 460, Physics 440, Chemistry 484, Biology 480, IT 394, Literature 454, History 434, Geography 434, English 474, Russian 69, French 169 and Chinese 64. Hanoi has the largest number of candidates with 169, followed by Hai Phong 104 and Nghe An 102. |
