In 2012, the Nghe An Department of Population and Family Planning promptly advised the province on population work in accordance with the specific characteristics of the locality: on the arrangement of specialized population and family planning staff in communes, wards and towns; on population and family planning policies and the arrangement of specialized population staff. In 2013, the Department of Population and Family Planning strived to complete and exceed the following targets: population growth rate of 11.34%; birth rate reduction: 0.4%0; reduction in the rate of third or more children by 1.2%; rate of pregnant mothers screened before birth by 10%; reduction in the rate of gender imbalance at birth to 116 boys/100 girls; increase the rate of contraceptive use to 76.8%/total number of women of childbearing age...
On this occasion, 12 groups and 12 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the General Department of Population and Family Planning of Vietnam; 1 individual was awarded the title of Provincial Emulation Fighter by the Provincial People's Committee; 15 individuals were recognized as grassroots-level Emulation Fighters; 52 groups and 82 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Director of the Department of Health for their outstanding achievements in population and family planning work in 2012.
