Directing the verification of information related to press activities

(Baonghean) - The Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department received Official Dispatch No. 620- CV/BNA dated November 27, 2013 from Nghe An Newspaper and feedback from a number of agencies and units in the province with the following content: Recently, in the province, there has appeared a subject impersonating a journalist named Thai Luong Son (Resident in Vinh City).

During the process of contacting the base, Thai Luong Son sometimes introduced himself as a journalist, Director of Vietnam Television Press Information Cooperation Company Limited, address 1B, Lane 409, Ha Huy Tap Street, Vinh City; sometimes introduced himself as a contract reporter for Nghe An Police Newspaper, sometimes claimed to be a person from Nghe An Newspaper, accepting a contract to do propaganda on Nghe An Newspaper.

When contacting units to make advertising contracts, Thai Luong Son presented a work introduction letter No. 108/GT/CANA signed by the Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Police Newspaper, in which Thai Luong Son was introduced as a contract reporter, sent to agencies and units in Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa provinces to contact for advertising propaganda... This action caused misunderstanding and damaged the reputation of Nghe An Newspaper, disrupting the working environment of genuine journalism at the grassroots level.

On December 3, 2013, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department issued Official Dispatch No. 834/CV/BTGTU and Official Dispatch No. 834/CV/BTGTU to Nghe An Provincial Police and the Department of Information and Communications requesting verification and clarification of the above incident.

The results of information processing are recommended to be sent to the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department for synthesis and reporting to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.
