Directing the handling of environmental pollution at the estuary of Dien Ngoc commune
(Baonghean)- On February 14, 2012, on Nghe An Newspaper's hotline, there was information reflecting the garbage pollution situation at the estuary of Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district.
Previously, the People's Committee of Dien Chau district also responded in an official dispatch, stating: For many years now, the people of Dien Ngoc commune have turned their sea into a place to dump garbage; the Dien Ngoc commune government has not had specific measures to invest in environmental protection in the locality; seafood processing and trading establishments discharge directly into the estuary, causing environmental pollution... The People's Committee of Dien Chau district has proposed specific remedial measures for the local government, the People's Committee of Dien Ngoc commune, requested the Fishing Port Management Board and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to speed up the construction progress of the project to upgrade and renovate the fishing port and make additional planning in accordance with environmental protection work.
On February 16, 2012, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment continued to issue Official Dispatch No. 276/TNMT - MT on handling environmental pollution issues as stated in the report. Accordingly, the People's Committee of Dien Chau district will inspect, clarify and handle the above issues according to its authority, and respond before March 5, 2012.
