Ms. Pham Thi Ha takes care of the pigs
(NAO) In Nghia Tien commune (Nghia Dan mountainous district, Nghe An province), people often mention Ms. Pham Thi Ha, 45 years old, in hamlet 6, famous for her "good hand" in raising pigs with an annual income of no less than 150 million VND. She is also an excellent party cell secretary of the Nghia Tien party committee, with two children studying at university and college.

In the late 1990s, when the children were still young, Pham Thuc Dinh (her husband) worked as a freelance bricklayer with an unstable job. The family was very poor and poverty was always lurking.

Is it possible that a party member lives in poverty and hardship? Struggling with that question, since 1998, the couple has built an economic direction by switching to raising pigs according to a semi-industrial process. With the support and encouragement of the Commune Women's Union and the Policy Bank, Ms. Ha borrowed capital to invest in building a closed barn with a scientifically arranged bathing water system. In the family's barn, there are usually 20 to 30 pigs, including 3 sows, each year proactively providing breeding pigs for the family and providing local people with 50 to 60 quality breeding pigs. To ensure and proactively provide food for the pigs, in addition to industrial food such as bran... her family also grows corn, cassava and vegetables on an area of 5 sao of hill garden land.

To utilize the waste of the pigs, Pham Thi Ha and her husband built a Bioga tank with a volume of 8 m3 with an investment of 5.5 million VND. In Nghia Tien, over 20 families have built Bioga tanks to utilize gas as fuel for cooking, bringing quite high efficiency. In addition to using gas for cooking with a very scientific and safe pipeline system, Ha's family also uses gas for lighting with gas lamps.

As a Party cell secretary, Ms. Ha has a very tight and reasonable work schedule. In previous years, although the children were busy studying, they still made time to help their parents. In the past few years, when both were students, the eldest child was a student at Vinh University, the second child was studying at a college in Hanoi, only the couple remained at home, while her husband Dinh still worked as a bricklayer. Therefore, the time invested in taking care of dozens of sows, pigs for meat, and breeding pigs, along with managing 1 hectare of acacia, 0.6 hectare of eucalyptus, 0.5 hectare of sugarcane... was almost all done by her alone. The Party cell of Hamlet 6, of which she is the secretary with 13 Party members, has always been a leading local Party cell in the movement to build and lead the people to well implement the policies of the Party and the State. For three consecutive years from 2005 to 2007, the Party cell of Hamlet 6 was recognized as a clean and strong Party cell.

From a poor and struggling household, Ms. Pham Thi Ha's family has now become one of the well-off households, with a prosperous and happy life, grown children... truly an example in the movement to build a cultural lifestyle in the highland commune of Nghia Tien.
