Emergency support for workers returning from southern provinces
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 7, the Provincial Federation of Labor held an online conference to deploy an emergency support program for workers returning from the southern provinces.
Since September 30, after a long period of fighting the epidemic, when Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces loosened social distancing, tens of thousands of citizens spontaneously moved back to their hometowns, including thousands of Nghe An workers.

Given the urgency of the province's epidemic prevention and control work, and with the desire to support union members and workers affected by the epidemic, Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor has decided to provide emergency support to workers returning home from the southern provinces since August 1, 2021, in difficult circumstances, with a support level of VND 500,000/person.
This program is applicable to the following subjects:workers working in 2021 at enterprisespay union fees in the southern provinces and are in difficult circumstances. Specifically: Female workers who are 7 months pregnant or older or raising children under 24 months old; Workers whose spouses or children are sick and require long-term treatment; Union members and workers who have had work-related accidents or occupational diseases and are receiving monthly allowances; Union members who in 2020 and 2021 were affected by natural disasters, floods, landslides, etc. that damaged part or all of their houses or had their houses burned down, etc.; Workers' families are poor or near-poor households.

Accordingly, employees need to provide one of the documents proving that they are working at the enterprise such as a photocopy or photo of the labor contract, social insurance book, copy of VSSID, salary statement... along with documents proving their circumstances to receive the earliest support.
To implement the emergency support program, the Labor Federations of districts, cities and towns are responsible for distributing information survey forms toworkers returning from the South, compile ballots and classify subjects. After the Provincial Federation of Labor verifies that the enterprise where the employee works has paid union fees, the Federation of Labor of districts, cities and towns will proceed to pay support in installments to the employee in cash or by bank transfer.

This emergency support program will start from October 8 and will be implemented continuously, regardless of holidays such as Saturdays and Sundays. It is forecasted that the number of people returning from epidemic areas will continue to increase in the coming time.
To receive advice and support from the trade union organization, workers can contact the trade union working groups at quarantine points; contact the district, city, and town Labor Federation; or call the provincial Labor Federation hotline: 0375037037, 0919742006.
In the online conference on the morning of October 7, Mr. Kha Van Tam - Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor emphasized: Workers are in dire need of support from the trade union organization. To implement this program, each Nghe An trade union official needs to participate with determination, responsibility and the highest effort. In paying benefits to workers and laborers, units need to be flexible, creative, not mechanical, rigid and ensure absolute safety in epidemic prevention and control work.
On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor also launched a contest to learn about Resolution 02/NQ-TW of the Politburo on "Innovation in the organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Unions in the new situation" and a plan to commend exemplary families of workers, civil servants and laborers to grassroots trade unions.
